Your card
Which Delta Dental do you have?
Delta Dental is a network of companies, and your card shows which one and which network your plan uses. That's the first thing we check:
- The network name on the card, for example Delta Dental PPO
- Member or enrollee ID
- Group number
- The Delta Dental company and phone number listed on the card
Plan types
PPO, Premier, and DHMO
Delta Dental plans commonly use one of a few networks. Our in-network status is for Delta Dental PPO plans. Some cards list other networks, such as Delta Dental Premier, and Delta Dental's DHMO plans (in many states called DeltaCare USA) generally require you to use an assigned network dentist.
Because the rules differ by network, call us with your card before booking if it doesn't say PPO. We'll check exactly how your plan works at our office.
Coverage
How Delta Dental PPO coverage usually works
A typical Delta Dental PPO plan covers preventive care at the highest level, often with no deductible, then basic services like fillings at a middle percentage and major services like crowns, bridges and dentures at a lower one. Many plans list minor restorative care around 70 to 80 percent and major care around 50 percent, but your plan's numbers are what count.
We look up your actual percentages, deductible, and how much of your yearly maximum is left, then give you a written estimate for each step.
Coverage details are typical examples, not a guarantee. Your plan documents and our verification are what count.
How we verify
What happens after you send your details
- We contact Delta Dental (or check its provider portal) to confirm your plan is active and in network with us.
- We note your coverage levels, deductible, what's left of your yearly maximum, and any waiting periods.
- The front desk calls you back with what your first visit should cost.
- If you need treatment, you get a written estimate before anything starts.
